Websites, Bookings & Digital Menus for Ottawa Restaurants

One team for the website, the booking flow, the online ordering and the menus, on the wall and on the phone. Built by the person you actually talk to, priced under what a signage company or an agency will quote you, and set up so you can change a price yourself on a Tuesday afternoon without emailing anyone.

What restaurants call us about

  • Your menu on Google is a photo of a laminated sheet from two prices ago
  • Reservations arrive by phone during service, so somebody leaves the pass to answer
  • The delivery apps take a quarter of every order and own the customer afterwards
  • The printed board has been reprinted four times this year and it is wrong again
  • Your site does not load on a phone, which is where every one of your customers is
  • Nobody can tell you which of your marketing actually filled a table

What the work covers

  • A restaurant website built for phones first, with the menu, the hours and the phone number reachable in one tap
  • Digital menu boards for the counter, the wall or the drive-thru, screens and install included
  • QR and web menus driven from the same content as the boards, so they cannot drift apart
  • Direct online ordering on your own domain, so the order and the customer stay yours
  • Table reservations that land in your inbox and your calendar instead of interrupting service
  • Google Business Profile set up properly: hours, menu, photos and the review flow
  • Local SEO so you show up for "near me" searches from people three blocks away
  • Photography and short-form video for the site and for social, if you need it

Call us. We will come to you.

Tell us the restaurant and we will come in, look at the room, the counter and the queue, and leave you with a written scope and a number. There is no charge for that visit and no obligation attached to it.

  • Call, text or WhatsApp the number below, or send the form. Say which restaurant you are.
  • We come to the room, usually within the week, between services so we are not in your way.
  • You get a written scope and a fixed price, with the hardware costed out line by line.
  • If you already have a quote from a signage company or an agency, bring it. We match the scope and beat the number.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with restaurants in Ottawa specifically?

Yes, and locally is the whole point: we come to the room. Shinobi Media is based in Ottawa and works with restaurants, cafes, takeaways and food trucks across Ottawa, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orleans, Stittsville, Gloucester and Gatineau.

How much do digital menu boards cost for a restaurant?

Our ceiling rates sit 35 to 40 percent under the ranges the signage vendors publish. As a worked example, three indoor screens costed at published market rates come to about $9,570 over three years including hardware, install, design and software; the same three screens come to $5,742 with us. The full line-by-line breakdown is in our guide to the true cost of digital menu boards.

Can I keep my delivery apps and still take direct orders?

Yes, and most restaurants should run both for a while. The apps bring you customers you would not otherwise reach; direct ordering on your own domain keeps the margin and the customer record on the orders you would have got anyway. Moving even a third of repeat orders direct is usually worth more than the site cost in the first year.

We are a small place. Is this worth it for us?

Sometimes not, and we will say so. If you have one board and a stable menu, a printed sign and a good QR menu is the honest answer and we would rather tell you that than sell you three screens. Digital earns its keep when prices move, when you day-part, or when the board is far enough from the door that a customer has to decide before they reach it.

How quickly can this be live?

A restaurant site with menus and ordering is usually two to four weeks. Menu boards depend on the hardware lead time, but a straightforward indoor install is normally in and running within two weeks of the scope being signed.

Do we own the menus and the hardware?

Yes, both, outright. The screens, the players and the menu content are yours, and so are the domain and the ordering system. Nothing on this page is rented back to you.
